The leadership of ZANU PF feeds on the suffering of the people. They seem to enjoy seeing others in pain.
ZANU PF does not hold onto power alone. They have the support of different parts of the government that should be neutral. The security forces, the anti-corruption commission, the courts, the electoral commission, and the media, which should all work for the people, instead work for ZANU PF. These groups are heavily politicized and militarized. They help ZANU PF keep its hold on power, making it harder for any real change to happen. They are more interested in staying close to power so they can benefit from the wealth that comes from Zimbabwe’s natural resources.
The idea of creating a one-party state in Zimbabwe is part of ZANU PF’s plan to remain in power forever. This concept is dangerous and does not serve the people. Instead of allowing different political parties to exist and compete, ZANU PF wants to be the only party. This is because they know that by being the only party, they can continue to ignore the people’s needs and plunder the country’s resources without opposition.
As long as there are valuable minerals and other natural resources in Zimbabwe, ZANU PF will not give up power. They will continue to rule in this way, despite the damage it is doing to the country. They do not care about the laws of the land or the well-being of the citizens. Instead, their only concern is staying in power and making themselves richer.
However, one day, the natural resources will run out. When that happens, these pests and parasites will flee the country. They will not stay to face the consequences of their actions. They will not willingly give up power or stay to fix the mess they have created. Instead, they will run away from the country, leaving the people to deal with the aftermath of their corrupt rule.
When this day comes, they may be brought to justice. Independent courts, not controlled by ZANU PF, will be able to hold them accountable. These courts will follow the rule of law and treat everyone equally. The leaders who have caused so much suffering may finally face punishment. They may be sent to prison for their crimes, paying the price for the destruction they have brought to Zimbabwe.
In the end, it is clear that ZANU PF’s grip on power is closely tied to Zimbabwe’s natural resources. As long as those resources remain, so will the corrupt leadership. But when those resources run dry, there may be a chance for Zimbabwe to finally find justice.
