The Zanu PF party keeps telling everyone that they are making progress. But if we look closer, the truth is very different. Despite what the party says, the recent by-elections in Zimbabwe tell a story that is opposite to what they want people to believe. The party talks about winning back support in areas that they used to control, but this is just a way to hide the real problems. The party is responsible for many of the difficulties the country is facing, yet they continue to act like everything is fine.
Many young people in Zimbabwe are unemployed. Some of them have now become supporters of Zanu PF online. Their job seems to be cheering for the party and its leader, who is disconnected from the people. But the truth is, these victories are not real. They come from unfair elections, made possible by an electoral commission that seems to support Zanu PF’s goals.
If anyone thinks that Zanu PF is making true progress, they are wrong. Believing this would be like trying to fit a big camel into a tiny tent. The party has taken control of the government, even though they did not win in a fair way. Now, they are responsible for the problems that Zimbabwe is facing, but they refuse to accept that.
Think of the country as an old, tired donkey. The donkey is over 40 years old, weak, and hungry. Despite this, it is forced to work like a young donkey. It has heavy weights tied to its legs, making it even harder for the donkey to move. The people who are in charge of this donkey are like the corrupt leaders of Zanu PF. They do not care about the donkey, and they keep pushing it harder and harder.
This comparison is not hard to understand for people who were educated in a good system, back when teachers were paid well. But today, children are not getting the education they need. Instead of going to school, they are taken to Zanu PF rallies where they are told false stories about the party’s so-called struggle for freedom. This “freedom” has not improved the country, and Zimbabwe is still struggling under a new form of control, similar to colonialism.
Back to the donkey: just like the donkey is not given enough food or care, the people of Zimbabwe are not given the basic services they need. Public services like healthcare, water, and electricity are either too expensive or not reliable. The people are now like underfed donkeys, suffering because they are not getting the help they deserve. But Zanu PF does not seem to care about fixing these problems. Instead, they focus on making themselves richer.
This brings us to the big question that nobody seems to be asking out loud. How can a party that has failed so many people still have support? Why would people who have been treated so badly by Zanu PF continue to support the party? It does not make sense. The people of Zimbabwe have been asking for change for years. They want leaders who can bring new ideas and hope for the future. So why are they supporting the same party that has made life so difficult for them?
These are not small questions. They are big issues that everyone in Zimbabwe should be thinking about. Why should a party that has brought so much suffering be allowed to stay in power? These are questions that demand answers, but Zanu PF continues to ignore them. Instead, they hide behind empty promises, pretending that they are making things better when, in reality, they are not.
The people of Zimbabwe deserve better than this. They deserve real leadership that listens to their needs and works to improve their lives. Until then, the problems will continue, and the country will remain stuck in the same place, like a donkey with too many burdens.
